Two Day Workshop
On
Basic Engineering Practices in Design & Manufacturing

Organized by Department: Mechanical Engineering

Convenor: Prof. S.B. Jadeja, Prof. V.H. OZA

Coordinator: Prof. Mehul Pujara

Co-coordinators: Prof. Mehul Ardesana, Ms Sweety Mahanta

Objective:
Industrial design and manufacturing play an increasingly important part for increasing the productivity of the company. Any modern industry that wants to successfully face the challenges of increasing globalization and competitiveness in the production processes of their business should take into account the latest advances in design and manufacturing. This workshop enables practicing engineers working in the industries and academics in the area of Design, manufacturing and quality control to closely interact with expert possessing a wide experience in this field. It will offer participants the opportunity to glimpse into what is the basic skills required for the design, manufacturing and quality control for the product.
The workshop was divided in technical sessions covering various topics related with engineering practices in designand manufacturing. Assesment/Test exam for all the participants was also be conducted at the end of the training sessions.

Topics Cover:

Basic drg. Practices- drg. Format - projection views, symbols (symbols for methods of projections, surface roughness, tolerances, std.parts, pipe fittings and connections,etc.),contents- standard designation of materials and treatment- dimensioning practices-Geometric and Dimensional Tolerances.
